OK so never posted anything non boating related on iBoats and will see how it goes.
So on my 2010 Chevy Camaro i have realized that when i turn on they key a little light turns on and as specified in the manual it is a bad or short circuit in the fuel pump. To be honest its a leased car and i can easily bring it to the dealer and have them fix it but the main problem comes out to my engine stalling after 40 min at idle speed or when i go to rev it up it stalls right away. So i really dont want to call a tow truck and go through that pain in the a**. Hopefully i can get someone on here verify that the fuel pump is doing that and i can just get a new fuel pump from my dealer and install it myself. So if someone can please help me out and determine what it is or if i should even be playing around with a leased car. Thanks

The specs of the engine is a 3.6L 6 cylinder 304HP Chevy engine. And the torque is 273 lb-foot if anybody cares to know.

Your symptoms "sound" like a weak fuel pump. Was your circuit diagnosis from a DTC?

Are you equipped to drop the fuel tank on the car? I bet you're going to find that the fuel pump assembly is in the fuel tank. If I were you and since its a lease, I'd let the dealship or a reputable mechanic do it.

Isn't your car still under warranty?

the car is a 3 year lease and i got it last year so the dealer should fix all mechanical and electrical components of the car as said in the contract. But my second option would just be to get the part from them and replace it myself. And the other thing is that i would have to wait about a month to get my car back because of the wait line during the holidays.

Looks like it could be anything from wiring, PCM, fuel pump relay. I would post in a Chevy forum to see if others have had the same issue.

i personally wouldnt do anything to a leased car other than what the lease allows. it could come back to haunt you .

The code basically says that you have low voltage to the fuel pump. Other than exchanging the relay with an unimportant one such as the fog lights and seeing what happens. You would have to run down the system and find the point were the voltage drops. You would need a good set of schematics.

They (dealer) are not going to just hand you a fuel pump.

Let them fix it.

I'm struggling to see why you want to do this yourself?????

The whole problem is that i cant drive it to them because the car shuts down after 40min and they said that if a tow truck was going to pick it up and bring it to them then i would probably get my car back after the holidays and for that time i would be without one. Its just a matter of me fixing it in 1 or 2 days tops and not going through all that pain or giving it to them and not have a car for the holiday.

Yea i dint think it would be worth it for me to do all of it and wiring in a car is a weakness for me. But i dont want to go without a car for the holidays!

Yeah i know what you mean but like i said i would rather do it myself by taking me 1 or 2 days to do so then being without a car for for the holidays meaning 1-2 months because of the wait time. But now i may reconsider it since i have to do a lot of things in order to find the problem!

This is not even a half day job for them. Where do you get these times?
