I guess the blessing of owning a brand new boat have come quite early...

Not even 5hrs logged on the clock, on a $30k boat and I started to get a dripping onto my feet yesterday when I finally went WOT and the speedo was crossing 50mph. Thought it might have been over spray from the bow but when it continued, there was no way possible it was bow over spray. I stopped the boat and looked under the dash and didn't see any water dribbles from anywhere as I poked around the cluster duck of wiring. My cousin who is another Glastron owner told me the speedo was based on water pressure. I didn't see the gauge leaking. Continued to drive and started feeling the water drops again, so I stopped once more. Felt the pitot hose and low and behold right where they have a connector on the line from the factory it was wet.

I know this is covered under warranty but my dealer is an hour away, and the cost of trailer my boat there in gas is probably more expensive than fixing the problem myself.

I haven't taken anything apart yet, but they have ample amount of hose bound up with zip ties and I am thinking maybe chafed the hose at this random connection and caused it to leak?

I have worked with boost/vac gauges on cars/trucks with forced induction before and know you shouldn't use connectors inline between the gauge and sensor. Does the same apply to these pressure speedometers? Then while searching, water apparently isn't suppose to be reaching the gauge either?

For the most part-yes.

Water will only reach the guage if there is a leak, as you just verified.

Speedo is just a pressure gauge, and you are correct, water should not actually reach the gauge. but if it is leaking......
