I wanted to put this in here for the guys who think or sy they are to far away to come
. This is from a recent magazine article on a little get together my truck Club calls Slick Stock . The article is about Slick Stock 3 and number 4 is next summer I have a few ( stocks ) to make it to next year

" For those who have never heard the expression , a " Slick " is the affectionate slang name given to 61-66 Ford F-100 nd Mercury M-100 trucks.At the core, an internet comunity known as Slick Sixties developed and to this day thrives at
www.fordtruk.com .To get a chance to meet all the folks from around the world on the sites forums in person and to see the " Slicks " they drive , the crew puts on a get together known as Slickstock.
Here's an excerpt from the text tht one of the members who came down from Canada wrote about his experiance at Slickstock 3 , the third event held to celebrate one of the fastest emerging truck body styles on the classic truck scene. " I was fortunate enough to attend Slickstock 3 held in Kansas City , Missouri, last summer . It was an 1,800-mile journey that spanned a 5 hour bus ride and 2 flights that got me there . Feeling the late August heat through the terminal gate in KCMO announced that I had finally arrived and shortly thereafter was greeted by a dozen or so members that I knew quite well;however,I had no idea what anyone looked like . A round of warm handshakes and an open cooler soon started what was about to be the best four days I ever had . It wasnt the venue or the sightseeingthat made the trip, but the leaning over old Fords in a hotel parking lot sharing stories till the early hours of the morning is wht made this group so great . It was not like a carshow , there was no judging and everything was special in their own way . The trucks ranged from daily drivers to working farm trucks to national-level show rigs. Every ride there ws as unique and diverse as the members that showed up . Not all had trucks , members from Canada , the United States and Australia were all there ; everyone felt right at home . That was becouse we all knew each other . From online banters to countless tips and tricks , we had all shared conversations in the past . All I can say is that I cannot wait until Slickstock 4 held in Iowa next summer ." "
I hope this long banter gets some of you that may feel like you are to faar out to be able to come to Tinstock with your boats to still come out and meet and greet all of us there . I am sure there will be enough Starcrafts there to insure nobody gets left onshore and that a great time will be had by all. I cant guarantee that this first get together will go smooth as silk but I would bet by the time we get to number 3 it will be and I know I look forward to meeting every person here that has helped me along the way in restoring my first Tin Can
