This is a general question that I can't seem to find an answer for. I purchased a used 2018 suntracker from a local marina that purchased it from the original owner. Upon further inspection, I noticed the sticker on the mercury big foot 40hp states it's a 2012 engine. The pontoon is a 2018 suntracker. Some research says the local boat shop could have installed that engine new from an old (new) stock, others state this shouldn't be the case. Does anyone here know how I can find out?
