Harvick scrapes the wall. Still on the track. Lap 20 and Suarez leads by 1.1 secs.

Lap 30 and Almirola is closing on Suarez, less than .2 secs between them. Joey has moved up from starting 22nd to 3rd.

Almirola takes over from Suarez and Joey takes Almirola for the lead.

Green flag stops underway. Little more than 1/2 way into the heat.

Stenhouse pits to pull out fenders and the McDowell finally pits from the lead. It's Joey in front.

6 laps left in the heat and Joey still leads. 20 cars on the lead lap.

Joey wins heat 1 by 6.6 secs over Harvick. Just like last night with the leader running away.

1st off pit road is Harvick, Joey 2nd.

Jones to the garage to try and fix a stuck transmission.

Joey leads by 1.6 seconds over Byron, 25 laps into the 2nd heat.

Jones back on track, but with all his pitting and repairs, 16 laps down.

Elliott has fired up the afterburner to move into 2nd, a hair over a second behind Joey. Almost 1/2 way through the heat.

Green flag stops and Elliott cut a couple of tenths off of Joey's lead with a good stop. 25 laps left in the heat.

The NASCAR Cup Series has now made it 400 laps (600 miles) at Las Vegas this season with the only cautions being for stage breaks. No “natural” cautions so far here.

2 laps from the heat end and Truex goes around Joey for the lead.

Truex wins heat 2. Joey picked the wrong lane behind lapped cars, giving an opening for Truex.

Still no cautions, adding to the 400 caution-free Cup laps mentioned in post #38.
