I pulled my lower unit on a 2022 Merc 60 to replace the impeller. Some places call the serial number an ELPT while the cowling says command thrust. I think Merc only sold one 4 cycle 60 except the odd bird jet thrust ones. They may have called the same things different names, kind of like my father did for me. Anyway, when I replaced the lower unit, after getting the splines aligned and the shifter going back smoothly from forward, neutral and reverse I did my final check, putting it in gear to see if while the engine was off each position acted in what I consider normal based on other outboards, by spinning the prop in each direction per shifter position with my hearing aids on. Forward, click, click, click and spins as though in reverse freely. Check. Neutral, spins freely either direction. Check. Reverse, and the prop is locked in both directions, find a forum and ask a question. I think when I have it in reverse it should spin in the direction it would were the engine on and hear click, click click and spin the prop as it would to go forward it should spin feely. Locked both ways seems odd. Is there something about the 2022 Merc 60 4 strokes I don't understand? Should the shifter in reverse and engine off lock the prop in both directions?

Did you get the right water pump parts for the larger CT gearbox ? Not sure about the 60CT specifically, but certainly my larger 115 CT, I don't think shares too many parts with its normal and smaller gearbox non CT version. Could be wrong
