Any idea why the 2 strips of wood are there do they need to be put back and what will I redo that area with? I obviously have more dismantling to do just putting a plan together when I don't have time to be in the boat. Cheers

WEAR PPE ...This fiberglass is no joke. I did not listen to my own advice to you and regretted it severely for 2+ weeks while I waited for tiny fiberglass fragments to work their way out of my skin naturally. When that stuff makes it's way in, it hurts and itches unbearably. Showers suck, the warm water irritated your skin and causes even more itching and pain....I could go on......but I wont.....Be smart about this.
Take liquid soap and apply it like sunscreen/lotion on any exposed skin before you start grinding. Rub in until dry. Closes your pores and virtually eliminated the itching. I used dish soap and bathroom soft soap, both worked. YMMV

Neck, face, ears, hands coat it all.

I have to say. Wearing the full face respirator and hooded tyvek the itching was minimal the whole time. A trick for relieving it is if after the fact you have it, use a lint roller or clear packing tape on the area. It'll pull most of it out. I lean over a lot of fiberglass filters and piping and that really does work quite well in a pinch.
