225 DIES ON PARTIAL THROTTLE PULLS

it is a 1993 225 /w oil injection & power steering usually when i hit it full throttle from a stand still it runs great - but if i take off from a stand still at anything less than 7/8 throttle she dies (about 3/4 of the time)-

Welcome!!<br /><br />Has it always done this? Or has it just started this after a period of non-use?<br /><br />Whats the compression?<br /><br />What spark plugs are you using?<br /><br />What grade fuel? How old?<br /><br />Whats the top rpm with an average load?<br /><br />Lots of questions, I know but its all related. It would help to know what type boat it on. Is it transom mounted or is it on a bracket? Jackplate?

hi - always done it <br /> compression - i dont know<br />spark plugs - champion ql77jc4<br />cenex 91 fuel fresh every day <br />top rpm about 5700 - 5800 @ about 50 mph W 21 pitch ss prop<br />the boat is a 1990 ski centurion motor is a 93<br />i dont know the difference in mounting brackets <br /> 88 octane fuel made it worse (that is all they have on the water)<br />thanks

Also look at the flywheel magnets and upper bearing housing bolts.
