I have a 2000 OX66 225, the oil tank on the motor, ocassionallly is overflowing and poping the sending unit up, I had a wire tie around it and it still popped up today and lost almost a gallon of oil before I noticed.
Everything has been cleaned and serviced this season.
ANY SUGGESTIONS????

if the screen in the engine oil tank is not correctly installed this can happen. also the tank switch may be failing.
both are easy to check.

on the tank switch body there is a flat and a protrusion. the screen holes must fit the protrusion and one over the flat or the inside of the screen may not vent and allow oil to raise inside the screen creating an issue where the pump wont shut off.
also check the tank vent line.
the switch can be tested with a standard Ohm meter.
what are the wire colors on your tank switch ?
anytime the engine tank screen is removed the seal MUST be retrieved and replaced with a new one.
I also reccomend emptying the tank before screen removal to aid in preventing trash from drooping into the oil pump intake pipe.
