225 rude coughin at idle whats the problem ???

my friend has a 1998 225 evinrude and it coughs real bad at a idle, it just come out of the shop for the problem but no fix at all. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

That usually means that cylinder is sucking air (or getting too much air) from somewhere. Depending on a particular model there are different places it can come from.

It could be a bad reed. I would listen to Dhadley and do what he says. The guy knows his stuff when it comes to outboards.
