23 FT Parti Kraft question

I am looking at a 23 ft Parti Kraft with a 115 Etec. The gas tank is under the deck in the "pod" the engine is mounted on. Based on another thread I am now wondering if this is a bad thing. The tank is "protected" by the aluminum "pod" but if you were to hit a submurged tree or something...or am I making something out of nothing?

IMO the motor pod is the best place for the gas tank. The weight is centered in the boat and the pod protects the tank. The worst place is the starboard or port rear corner and that is where my last boats tank was. The weight causes the boat to list to that corner.

Mine is in the same place on an '08 Sun Tracker. If I bottom out, the motor is a much bigger worry. I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.

Don't worry about it. The pod is a great place for it. A disadvantage of the two or three that I have seen is that you had to refuel from the stern.

Hi,

I have a 2005 Parti Kraft Admiral PKA220DF. It has a bimini top on it that
matches the seats and carpet. I would like to add a second bimini top to
the front portion of this boat that will match with the existing top but
I can't find any name or model number anywhere on this top. It is original
equipment I know because the storage boot says Parti Kraft. I wouldn't
mind having a top of another brand but the fabric probably wouldn't match.
Any suggestions on how I can identify this top so that I can find another one
in the same color/style? (I know the new top will not attach to the existing top and that is fine)

How do you like your Parti Kraft? I have only seen the one I am considering buying. Do you have an Etec engine and are you happy with it?
