It's all inside the cabin roof the front bow area an the helm area where ya drive . An the step helm is the same way . I'm planning g to replace with solid sheets of ply . Or should I just leave the parts that are still solid alone an let it be

Is it just me or does it seem like they used little 6x6 or 4x4 blocks of wood instead of solid sheets of plywood it doesn't make sense why they done this . Anyone have any ideas about this

They laid the wood out like parkay flooring and the grains randomly go in different directions. Providing alot more strength. Todays plys exceed the need to do it that way. Some times the core is done the same way even today using balsa wood. If you can save any of the glass on top of the wood then you can resuse it and fit it back together with new ply adhered to the underside.Take a lot of pics!

Should I cut this out a replace with solid sheets of marine ply or leave it alone

Test a couple of areas to check out the condition of the wood. It may be just fine and leave it.

My cap has alot of cracks in it an I wonder if this may not be the reason why . I can stand on the decks an the seem nice an firm an I weigh in around 315

Those little squares are no biggy to get out, especially if they are or were wet and slap back some ply to glass. Sawsall makes a mini sawsall with an attachment I used that made quick busness of those areas. batteries do run out fast though.

Was wondering if I could build a rotisserie some how like for auto body so I could turn it upside down an work on it . But pretty sure I can do it lupside down like this also

What do ya mean have the cap completely off the boat at the moment fixing to take the inner liner out an then start removing bad stringers an such an replace the transom

Is the area where those little squares are located a perfectly flat area? If it's an arced area they'd have used small pieces of wood to follow the arced shape, me thinks.
Here is a pic of how the ceiling in my salon is built. It is an arced surface, which is also the underside of the flybridge deck where we've often had 5 adults seated;
