I was just wondering if you guys can tell me what size jumper you guys use on you 24V Trolling systems....?

The wire that ties both 12V batteries together.....? Trolling motor will be using 6AWG from breaker to the back of the receptacle....Should i use a heavier gauge for the jumper and the short piece that goes from the Positive post to one end of the Breaker...?

How do you guys run your 24V system....?????

Same as your primary battery cables, use 4ga for the cross connect. You can use 6 to the breaker and 8 from the breaker to the receptical which will save you from buying the adapter. The motor is prewired with 8ga.

You don't need 4 gauge if you have 6 gauge from the battery to the bow. Use 6 gauge for the jumper. Bigger is ok but not necessary.

Re: 24V system jumper...?

Thank you both for your input regarding this issue....Very helpful.

I was just called by a friends dad, he knows what i'm up to and offered me a piece of 10 foot 4 gauge wire he had left over from his spool...He also said what Silvertip said...Ok, but not necessary.

I was just trying to get a feel of what other Experienced Fishers do on their 24V systems.....Thanks

Yeah, you don't but you can buy a 4 ga, two foot jumper already made up, at Kragens, cheap.
