Ok just to clarify connect wires as u have stated the purple wires on the switch will not be used which would have been going to ignition and assy am I correct

There is nothing on your motor requiring a 12V feed (purple wires).

Can these wires be tied directly into the wires in the harness that's there or would it be best to remove the harness and run wires from new switch all the way and tks a bunch oh can a charge system b put on or would it be costly

Do it whichever way is convenient for you. Myself, I'd remove the plug. We haven't discussed another thing---you need to get the + and - battery cables in there too (the red and black thick wires from the plug).

I'll let racerone answer the question about the charge coil, since it seems he has done it at some time. I don't think there are enough flywheel magnets. But let's hear from him. I respect his opinion.

woo hoo i want to say thank u to all who chimed i got in from work tonight & wired the switch up every thing seems to work

now if i may ask 1 more question i'm gonna pull the carb and clean it when i take the lean / rich screw out what is the adjust of it when i put it back together

Look at the top secret files. Under the topic how do I adjust my carbs. The top secret files are the first thread in the johnson/evinrude forum. I believe the starting point is one and a half turns from GENTLY seated. And work your way in. Do not over tighten the needle or you could damage it.
