Where is the fuel lift pump located? Is it behind the oil tank, coz I don't see anything that looks like a picture of one. If the pump in the VSP is replaceable, can someone send me a link to one that will work, please???

  • the motor has 2 pumps one is called the lift pump used to fill the VST at 2psi ..just follow the incoming fuel line it will bring you to the LIFT pump... fancy name for aka "fuel pump" to pull fuel out of the tank
  • After passing via the VST to separate the vapors /air from the fuel... the VST passes the fuel over to the high pressure pump to feed the injectors at about 32 psi . Follow the injector fuel hose backwards to the high pressure pump.
here are a few pics from the 2011 manual (you should get one)
Thank you !!!

I have not used the pumps in question. I have only given you a referrence
to it.

Going forward is up to you but in any event you must ascertain that fuel pressure to the injectors is out of specs before trowing parts at the motor.

the info is from a ETEC user who said it worked for him.. purely and simply

I encourage you to narrow down the issue with proper diagnostics (pressure tests)

I have even read some pumps have been revived from the dead by filling them with tcw3 oil to soak rusted innards.

Normally under control of the EMM and the engine' 55v supply applying 12v should spin the pump on it's own to circulate the oil. let it sit a few days , flush out the oil reinstall it and see if the injector pressure comes back... assuming it is low in the first place of course. .

the trouble search I sent you indicates the 25hp VST/pump has been problematic and have R.I.P.'d quickly if water is circulated in the fuel.
Adding some extra tcw3 in the fuel supply seems to be a good practice (100/1) to keep rust away and oil the pump innards

the alternative is to take it in the shop and pay the man.

Best I can suggest for now. Do visit the ETEC user board for expert comments from ETEC mechanics.
