My boat went to shop for oil alarm going off. Tech changed remote tank oil pump and said all good now. tested boat and now 2 bars on tach are flashing but oil system seems to be working good. Anyone seen this before?

2 bars flashing usually indicates an incorrect dip switch setting on the tach. usually the tach dip switches are set for 4 stroke and the tach is used on a two stroke.
double check your switch settings.

Re: 250hpdi tach gauge

This gauge has slways been installed on boat and was working until tech changed oil pump @ remote tank. Tech said he checked all connections and all good. He said he is lost to why it is flashing. I am sort of fustrated that tech is baffled also hope ypu guy's can help with suggestions. Does oil tank have a sending unit and if it does is this always changed when pump and filter are changed?

Re: 250hpdi tach gauge

the oil tank has a switch that will alert the operator that the remote tank is low by illuminating a single middle bar.
3 bars flashing will indicate the ECU sees, via the remote tank switch, that there is enough oil for automatic transfer yet the engine oil tank is telling the ECU the engine tank is low.
2 bars flashing is typically wrong dip switch setting or sometimes the switches need to be reset.
sometimes they lose contact and must me cycled, dunno why but its the way life is.
