There is only one thing that I know about propellers. They go around and make the boat move.
I would like help choosing a prop for a 14 ft Grumman Deep fisherman, with a 1972 Johnson 25HP for power. The boat is rated fot 900 lb (people, motor and gear). Have floor, trolling motor, battery 2 swivel seats and me.
The prop on it is a 9x10, which is also standard on my 20. Do not have a tach, so I've no idea what rpm's I'm getting.
Took it out for the motor's first shake down (rebuilt it over the winter-bought as a basket case.) Top speed was 20 mph with GPS. Came up on plane, but it took a while for the bow to come down. Just like my 20.
There is a 9x9 shown as optional as new equip. at the BRP website.
Is this about typical for my rig? Or is there a better combination available.
