25hp Merc carb parts!

Ok I have a 1980 Merc 25hp. I was cleaning the carb and the needle fell apart on me. I have been looking for the part on mercury express and other sites and it appears it is not available. Where can i get one from?

PS. the repair kit does not come with it.

So I call those guys and they told me the same thing. Part is obsolete! This is not looking good.

you know what sucks,,,,,the above website has everything we need for
our mercury carbs, even new ones for $88.00,
they will not ship to the usa.guess they dont like gringo's.

also the needle you need $3.??-----19.00 shipping????????? give me a break

too bad the usa parts warehouses are so damn greedy$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The bad part is that some of them show them as having the part. But when you call that is not the case. I am in SC and yesterday I called nearly 10 different states looking for this part. Oh well the hunt continues!

Is it the short or long needle as there are 2 lenghts, I have a short one if needed...

I find this question interesting! I have not found two part numbers for the needle there for I was under the impression there was only one size. The needle I have was about 3/4 of an inch long.

there are needles out there that will fit,one just needs measurements to the fraction,,then research,tillotson-walboro-zama-even briggs and stratton.

i know this for a fact, i was in the business for years.

Thank you for the sites. I have pretty much called anyone that you can google or Yahoo for these parts. I have taken measurements and made a drawing so. Now I need to go to the boat store and see if they have needles and will let me look and measure them. If I find one that will work I will let you all know.
