2hp quits after 1/2 hour running

My 2hp Yamaha quits after running at 3/4 throttle and then will restart sometimes. It was completely rebuilt this season. It starts right up when cold.
Do you think it could be the carb adjustments? The two screws don't seem to do anything and the Yamaha documentation doesn't address carb adjustment. Any ideas.

I just bought one of these second hand -- same problem ... (maybe)
you have more experience than me.. maybe you can help me?
What is the butterfly,sprung screw for on shaft?
Should the cooling water come through the small holes on shaft?

I suspect the water pump may be not working but would appreciate any ideas.
