Hi,
Our 3.0 140 (1989 +/-) will start up and run fine for a bit. Then we shut it off for a few hours and head out at which point the engine runs very poorly.

I have always had an issue that running the trim while underway causes the engine to breakup and skip, going back to normal when the button is released.

Our current problem acts exactly like that but continuously and thru the rpm range.

All ignition parts are new including coil and wires. Have not messed with timing.

Voltmeter on dash indicates charging around 14V. Someone suggested maybe bad battery?

Any Ideas?

Thanks

timing is a part of the tune up proceedure.... when ya put in new points, it effects timing. set point gap (dwell) 1st, then reset timing at idle speed.....
did ya replace the fuel fitlers?
