I am looking at a slightly newer 3.0 motor for my boat. Mine is an '87, I'm looking at a '90.

Looks like the only physical differences are the flame arrestor and the electronic ignition. Is the carb any different? I primarily need the long block and I'll use all my original stuff.

will my old distributor fit right up? I would assume so.

Check the Bolt Pattern on the rear of the Crankshaft,......
That should be the only place there Might be an Issue...........

The actual crank bolut pattern for attaching a flexplate/flywheel setup (might be something else in the marine world)?

Ayuh,......

The Bolt circle on the 2 piece rear main seal motors is, I believe 3, 1/4"s.......
It's 3" on the newer 1 piece seal motors........

That'll cause Flywheel fitment issues......
