I own a 1993 rinker captiva 180 with a four cyl. 3.0 alpa 1 inboard,I recently experienced a loud noise that sounds like a lifter tapping when I am cruising at three quarter throttle reving at 4000 rpm,oil pressure is at 40 psi,I shut down the engine as soon as it starts tapping, then restart engine and there is no noise until i reach the same speed again, anyone have this happen to them?and any suggestions as to what might be causing this sound,it has done this three times in the last outing, and as I am crossin a large lake ,a brake down can mean a very long paddle to shore if there is no help.thank you for any help.Any one heard of this or have it happen to them???
