3.1L ox66 Squeak

Hey folks,
Just started noticing a "squeak/squeal?" sort of sound from my 200 3.1L OX66 1999 model, seems to be more apparent in gear, can't really hear it at WOT, but at idle it's very noticeable, doesn't seem to do it at the beginning of the trip..... It seems to show up after running it for just a little bit.

Compression, spark and all that good stuff are great. Motor performs flawlessly. I've read the bushing on the drive shaft will make a noise such as this? Also read if I didn't pull up on the drive shaft when reseating the impeller it'll make some sort of noise also....

Any help in this area would be great, do I lube the bushing, or just replace that, if that happens to be the cause?

You can drop the lower unit and inspect/ grease the driveshaft bushing...a high quality marine grease is best. Quicksilver 2-4-C is very good..

I'll drop the lower this evening and take a look at it, is it very easy to see the bushing, or is it tucked way back in the mid and hard to get to?
