Okay, most of you have contended that putting on a bigger carb or other small mods would not really be worth it on the 3.7. However, I am pretty handy, and have a friend who is a great engine builder, and we were thinking of doing an M90 Roots Blower setup over the winter. M90s are designed for engines UP TO 5.0 liters, so I thought the 3.7 would be an excellent candidate. I figure about 60-80 more HP on moderate boost.

Anyone know where I can find a FSM for the 3.7 and does anyone know the stock compression? This would be a winter project, but if I want to do it, Id like to start planning now and gathering parts, as we may end up doing a rebuild.

OH MAN, those engines had problems staying alive with a 2bbl carb, now you want to install a blower?

By the time you're finished it will cost thousands, then the motor will disintegrate - more thousands.

If you're really keen on more horses, look at repowering to a bigger motor, maybe a v6?

Aldo

It wouldnt cost thousands. Probably about $500. Hes done a similar conversion on an RX7 with an M90.

But these motors are weak then huh?

I just know it will cost alot more to get a 4.3 Marine motor or something like that than it would to blow this one. Id REALLY like to do a 5.0 or 5.7... I dont know if there is enough room back there though...
