Well, its time for the first oil change on my twin 3.8L V-6 Stringers. I plan on using a vacuum suction unit. Before I purchase said unit, I just need to know if the oil dipstick on the OMC 3.8L will allow the 1/4' tubing to go all the way into the crankcase. I read some posts warning that some dipsticks had indentations that prevented this. I have been unable to find one of the old style OMC pumps that had the hose fitting that screws directly onto the dipstick.
Thanks
Greg

Those pumps with the hose fitting are available everywhere. They still use those fittings on new Volvo engines.

here is one:

Most of the vacuum types also come with the hose adapter or you can make your own adapter with parts from the hardware store. I would never use the tube down the dipstick if you have the fitting at the top.

Hope this helps.
