I am turning about 5000 rpm's with my 90 Johnson at wot on my 20 foot pontoon loaded down pretty heavy, with a 13 3/4 X 15p OMC prop. The boat is almost never loaded any heavier than it was on the test trip. I am figuring on going to a Solas 13 3/4 x 13p from iboats, but I see I can get a 13p 4 blade for just a little more. I have 2 questions, will the 13 be enough of a drop to get me into the 5500 range and would the 4 blade be a better prop for the pontoon?

I did not run the boat WOT for long at that RPM with that load.

Every inch you drop in pitch will be about 200 RPM. I'd go with a 3 blade
