35 hp johnson won't start

I have a 1958 Johnson 35hp serial #1811343 and model #RDS 20. Up until now it ran fine, when we tried to start it today it started and then died a minute later. We have gas to the carb nipple and good spark. We squirted gas into the carb and it will fire. Do I have something plugged or what? Thanks

That what it sounds like to me.Fouled carbs.They'll need to be dismantled to clean properly.
