86 Mercruiser 350 alpha 1 lower unit It has thunderbolt IV Ignition
The module is located on the right side exhuast manifold. BUTT...... I put it all back together today and it started. So WTF? I think the ground on the bottom of the Distributer that goes from the ground on the module to a phillips head screw as you can see with the cap off. On screw is longer than the other as I was taken the pick-up coil out the nut that holds it on fell with no help from me unless it turned as I unscrewed it but most of the time you need a wrench on one end so...........Im putting it in the water friday gonna let it get hot again and go from there.

If/when it goes bad again, do these checks.

I pulled the ground off the Distributer just out of curiosity and started the boat and it fired right up. I think something got hot but even the next day it would not start, but thanks for the trouble test i will probably use it. It started two days in a row and this is my second week to own it. WTF!!!!
