Well now the only way My motor will start is if I pull out neutral switch and engage the throttle. I know this is no good for My engine , so could someone please give Me ideas soon ? Strippers are almost gone and I need to get out there, HELP....

Re: 35hp chrysler motor

Year? Model? Serial #
Starting procedures, pull fast idle button, then advance the throttle and turn key and push key to choke?

Re: 35hp chrysler motor

tztop, Does your 35hp Chrysler look like my 1970 35 hp Chrysler (55 hp cover/hood)? Our controls are different from seeing your steps.

1. I put both handles (accelerator/gear select) in the neutral position to start the engine.
2. I push-in the key to choke, turn the key to crank and release key.
3. I can accelerate slightly for cold start idling.
4. I have to be in forward or reverse before any true acceleration vs the slight rpm increase.
