Here's another one for...

A guy I know is going to give me a deal on a recently rebuilt 4.3 carb for my 3.0 Mercruiser. The carb looks like it will physically fit, but I was wonder what your input would be?

Do you think there would be any problems other than gas consumption?

Thanks in advance!

THINK about it

Why would Mercruiser, OMC, Volvo, even GM, use different carbs on a 4 cylinder than they would on a V6, or a V8 if one would work for all.
The basic outsides look the same because they are, the insides are different.

I realize this...but in your opinion what would be the hindrance in using that carb on the 3.0?

In my opion, what it would come down to is the jetting(the insides).

Only difference is power valve and high speed jetting. Same 485 CFM carb wont give ya any thing but fouled plugs and S****y hole shot as is.

This is great stuff...

Is there anything I can transfer from the old carb to the new carb in order to avoid this, i.e. the jetting?

Thanks
