I did have my friend hold the choke wide open while I cranked, still same result. I think it may be leaking then fouling the plugs because I pulled the plugs and they are fouled. we even got a little squirt bottle and when the engine turned over for that second we squirted gas into the carb and it still stalled. you would think that would keep it going for a bit. unless its totally flooding it out.
You may be have a leak inside your carb and flooding your engine(fouling your spark plugs) causing you to have to crank the heck out of it to get it to start. Again this could be a heavy or a un-adjusted float or bad needle and seat.
To diagnose this, prop open the choke and try your normal start up procedure when cold...
