Changed engine oil and gear lube today. Noticed a cap that said drive oil (not gear lube reservoir). What is this and how often should it be changed? I tried to search Google and keeps showing drive oil is the oil for the lower unit.
My guess is this is your drive lube bottle, also called gear lube monitor. If you drive starts leaking, this bottle will keep the drive full. If you see it ever start going down get your drive checked. It is normal to loose some lube after changing drive lube, but will not continue to loose it. If it ever goes empty while running the alarm will go off
