I plan on replacing my '88 4.3 OMC 1 piece manifolds soon...I believe they are leaking slightly, and they are in poor shape....

But, I want to use them to test my motor before I spring for the costly conversion kit....

I bent a couple of the studs taking it out....I would like to just use bolts to put it on temporarily.....

Anyone done this and know the correct length? I'm not sure how to measure it even exactly....

Thanks

If the manifolds are leaking why would you chance putting them on a new or good running motor?
I would get the new ones then test the motor...

Re: 4.3 OMC Manifolds

I've heard if they are leaking they only drain water in the engine on shutdown right? I thought it would be ok to just see how it runs and make sure there are no disasters before buying the new ones.....I plan on changing the oil right away again just as a precaution anyways.....

How do you go about testing the manifolds? Maybe I'll try that 1st.....they are the 1 piece OMC

Thanks
