4.3L I/O leaking oil from foot

Hi ,

I have a 1991 cadorette with a 4.3 I/O

While I was getting back to the dock the other day I noticed some small oil deposits on the water that seem to be coming from the foot. Its very small but I notice a drip spreading on the surface of the water every 10 feet.

What would I look for on the foot to check for oil leakage ?

Do I need to pull the boat out of the water ?

No one is going to tell you where the oil is coming from without you pull the boat and look.

Where is this 'foot', and does it have socks and shoes on?

Are you referring to the drive, Stern drive, out drive?

Finding and fixing any leak on the drive requires the boat to be out of the water and the drive removed from the transom assembly.... There is no other way...
