I am in the process of restoring a 1988 sylvan 188 barritz. I am swapping the original 4.3 out with a 4.3 from a 1998 bayliner. I also installed a 4bbl intake and carb. The new motor only has four ports on the thermostat housing and the old one has six. The new one only has the one hose to each manifold and not to the risers like the old motor. Will the risers from the old engine work? Do I just need to plug that port that the hose goes to? Or do I need to change over to the old thermostat housing and run the hoses?
