The biggest reason (IMHO) to avoid Polaris is the belt-drive. What happens when your drive-belt(s) get wet? You call your buddies with the Hondas and Suzukis to come pull you.

I worked at a Honda dealership for a few years and saw pretty much the same things that were mentioned above with regard to different brands and their inherent problems.

My personal preference is Honda, but that's only because my first bike was a Honda. Second to that is Suzuki, but I own a couple of those as well and beat the crap out of them just as hard as I do my Hondas and have just as much confidence in their reliability.

You won't go wrong, just maintain it like you would any other machine and you'll be good. They're not at all difficult to work on for someone with mechanical inclination.

its a lot like looking for a boat. when you want one you cant seem to find any thing and when your not looking and could care less, good deals come out of the wood work. murphy's law?

no mater what you get quad squad will steer you right and the have guys with all brands on there.

FYI i wouldn't be a bit afraid of Polaris. they are one of the most popular brands out there and the belt drive has been well proven. the only place i know them to be week is when it comes to extreme mud bogging. i'm talking about where they flood a six ft. or more deep pit and try to drive through it

you need to double check what ever model you get as they all have there dogs. Honda's automatic transmission is a good example. it work ok when it works but are prone to trouble and it costs more to fix than the quad is worth if much gos wrong with it.
kind of like me being told to stay away form a 454 with alpha drive here on the 4m. then buying one any way and finding out the 4m is pretty much right. the 454 is a good motor and the alpha a good drive just not together

as do Arctic Cat (bad bad frames)

I work at an Arctic Cat dealership (for almost 10 years now). We sell 150 +/- new units a year, and I can count on one hand how many frame jobs we do each year.

You seem to be a Zuki fan, you know Suzuki owns part of AC?... Its like the Toyota/Lexus thing.... The Suzuki is nice, but if you want real quality you'll buy a Cat.

I've never had a problem with my belt and I am not afraid of water or mud at all. If they are so bad why are the sleds all belt drive. Sounds like salesman BS and not facts.
