I have a 40 HP Mariner engine that was stored for a little over a year. It is running rough and will not idle longer than 5-10 minutes without dying. All fuel lines have been replaced and gas tanks cleaned. I would like to tear the carbs down and clean them but I cannot find a website with photos... Any sugestions? Is this a big deal to do I do most car work myself so I am mechnaically inclined.

Also I saw on a post that we should not add oil to empty gas tanks... Won't the gas dissolve the oil? What if I already did this but drove it around for 1 hour before I started the engine.

Lastly, are fuel stabilizers and fuel additives any good, or should we just stick to outboard oils that have that TW-C3 stuff... What about synthetic fuel oil additive...

Thanks a million all
