40hp 2003.where to find used part and one additional help question

Is there a scrapyard or place where boats and or motors are parted out in the U.S.? I just want a plastic piece for the top of the hood for my 2003 4 stroke 40HP. The piece that is used for lifting the hood towards the rear of the motor. It would be a cheap shipping item. Just removes with 3 bolts underneath. Any year of a hood or hp other than 40 also fit,maybe a 50hp higher/lower? Starting what year and ending what other years will fit my 03? Any idea,in case I can't find this top piece, how much a whole used hood would probably cost?
Since I have an open question here,may I ask if there might be a common problem on a 03 4 stroke 40HP,tilt/trim, Honda's I should look out for as I just bought this and would appreciate any heads up on any kind of help?...thanks!

I just started this BF40A engine with ear muffs. It has sat for 2 years upright in a garage. had plugs changed,oil changed before storing,was fogged. Started right up but has a cough and a spit with rough idle. Used fresh gas. Didn't do anything with carbs before running it as was too late,guy who sold it to me had it running a little before I got to see it so anything in carbs was not drained...?Question?...before resolving to 3 carb rebuilds which I can't do,is there an additive I can mix in with fresh gas in a little gallon gas can pump up the squeeze ball and hopefully run through to clean up the carbs or any other cheap things first? I ran the engine's gas line into a lawnmower gas can for this test as I don't have a sealed,correct boat motor gas can as yet if that matters?...thanks!
