454 big block with alphaone drive

hello i need to know if a 454 big block can work with a alpha one drive, if yes do i have to change anything, i curently have a small block in the gog house, thanks

In a very light boat with 1.32-1 gears

Merc actually tried that in 86,87, and 88. Also in 88 they came out with the Bravo outdrive, and the Alpha was never put on a big block again.
Like "Crash", sorry, BT Doc says, use the right gear ratio, and be VERY easy on the throttle. The sudden "full throttle" movement of the throttle is what does it. To much torque for those little drives.

A Well Built SBC can be More than enough for the Alpha drives........
