4bbl carb backfire

488 merc 3.7 it only backfires when starting the motor after that its ok, do i have to adjust the carb?????

Grab a timing light and see if your timing is correct

i did not check that but i did do a tune up from filters to wires and everything in the middle lol. motor idles fine but its only at the first start up then you can turn the motor off and then start it back up and it wont backfire its like wtf...
