Ah it's that lovely summer holiday again....where everyone has plans and they invite you to them, when all you want to do all weekend is sit on the boat.

Let's chat about 4th of july past.....

How have your experiences been?

Last year my dad had a firework shell from the barge land on him after it had exploded and fallen down...

This year I'm planning to raft up with about 10 boats. Not sure how the preg lady on board my boat is gonna feel about that.

Planning this stuff is so complicated when you have friends and family who all have different views of what will be fun!

you leave them, to their devices, to do what they want.
I just ask "who want's to go" they know how to get ready.

LoL @ preg lady.

Heading out on lake Michigan July 3rd for fireworks downstream in Kenosha and the 5th in Racine.
The 4th I think we will cruise the Cobra car to Chicago or maybe the chain of lakes.

Re: 4th of July 2010 on the water thread.

I'm afraid of being on the water after dark because there will be a lot of boats, and all are bigger than mine, and many are yachts.

I'm afraid of being struck by a big boat that can literally run over mine. With all the partying going on during the fireworks show, I think there will be drunk captains on the water.

I rather like being on the water after dark, but prefer to be the only boat around. I go slow, not even planing speed, and enjoy a nice slow trip back to the launch.

So unless I am anchored in a mooring area, I'll probably just watch from the beach. Again.

whenever I say "let's go" it's an hour before each of them is ready to leave the dock!

after years of doing what everyone else wanted to do (hanging at my pool, eating my ribs and watching my fireworks) LMAO, I am doing what I want to do! Headed to Heber Springs, AR to raft up with several other boats. Plan to do a lot of wakeboarding on our new tower and drink a few cold ones.

Be Safe!

Re: 4th of July 2010 on the water thread.

I will have my project done and be splasing it for the first time on the holiday weekend. I plan on doing the same thing I did last year. water sports all day and get my spot in down town Toledo Ohio between 5-6pm and chill and watch all the others jocky for a spot last min. Then After I will wait a good hour before leaving so to avoid all the ramp crazys!

Its all ways fun to watch the coast guard go from boat to boat doing checks and chasing boats out of the fall zone for the fire works. It all ways surprises me on how many people the coast guard gets for vilations. Its funny to hear all the ways people try to get out of their tickets to!

I am always preped and waiting for the coast guard to check me every year. All my gear easy to get to and I have double of almost every thing in case something dosnt work when they check....quick and easy if they check me out!

Installed my new tower bimini yesterday. Tied a few Canada flags to the tips of my tower and threw on a Roughriders flag. I'll snap a picture tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I guess I'm celebrating a little early, July 1st for us. And instead of my usual stomping ground I'm over at Jackfish Lake in SK. Kneeboarding, wakeboarding, and tubing all week long baby. Maybe a little golf in between.

Staying off the water for fireworks though. I don't boat at night if I can avoid it. We'll be right on the beach tho!

We're taking the dogs running about 30 miles to another local marina with a view of the fireworks, stay at the dock for the night aboard and enjoy the displays.

Probably spending the weekend on the boat. Only looks to be one fireworks celebration this upcoming weekend that we can view from the water.

I'll do like I do every year, since I live on a great lake, I'll be out on the lake watching fireworks.

We'll be on Greers this weekend. Spending a few days with my uncle at Fairfield. Do they still do the fireworks? Might have to take the barge out for them.

Hopefully we will be out, possibly on the Ohio River cruising around at a friend' parent's place near Ripley, Ohio. We will see if the plans happen. I want to get out but i don't want to get rocked becuase of all the wakes.

Going out tonight on the a tributary of the Ohio, Great Miami River. Its nice being 5 mins from the ramp and the whole river to myself. ( well 2.5 miles to the next dam)
