I finally got around to installing new plug wires , cap and rotor on my 1988 GM 5.7 / Cobra with a Mallory / Unilite electronic ignition. Now the engine won't start. Does not really even try . I just went out and pulled the cap , checked for proper rotor placement and traced each plug wire from cap to plug and everything is in it's proper positions.
Before I put the old cap and rotor back on , I thought I would ask the experts for ideas .
Have any ??
thanks, A.B

Crank the motor with cap off and see if rotor is turning, also grab rotor and see if you can turn it by hand

Thanks for your reply AllDodge---- I tested the rotor as you suggested and found it to be solid and did not move in a significant distance. I did see that when I got my new parts from Summit the rotors were not exactly the same but did not think too much about it as aftermarket can be the same thing only different as they say. All said and done , I put the old rotor back in and the engine fired off within one revolution and ran fairly smoothly .
Problem solved , well that is until I have to have another Rotor.
thanks for your help-------Bruce
