Just got the boat out after two years (winterized with 30 gallons of fuel drained before starting) and the first time out, motor died while moving slow for extended period. Had warm temp and replaced impeller and t-stop. Temps are good now but after running for awhile, stopping for 30 minutes, motor dies after putting in gear. Finally started and ran but died when coming to a stop. Smelled strong odor of gas from exhaust (not in engine compartment) and finally got a tow.

Owned boat for a decade and have done nothing to motor other than winterize and oil/filter changes.

Comments are appreciated!

I take it you are working on the boat in your signature?

Owned boat for a decade and have done nothing to motor other than winterize and oil/filter changes.

Time to start with a basic tune up.

Had my boat 23 years, it sat for awhile, ran but stalled out at low idle. Tuned it up, runs perfect again

So, I have seen a number of posts related to difficult spark plug removal. Since I have never had the plugs out, do I do myself any favors by applying some PBS Blaster on these several days before removal?
