5.7 mercruiser internal lubbing

Has anyone ever heard of a way to possibly lube or do something to prevent so much rust buildup in the cooling system. Because with only lake water going threw the motor that is going to cause alot of rust. I just put a brand new crate engine in my VIP and just want it to last as long as possible. On a car it has antifreeze which has oil in it. If you have heard of anything, please post. I am very interested in some ideas.

FWC system for the block and manifolds, that just leaves the risers to replace .

Ayuh,.... That'll cause Problems,....... In about 100 Years.........

In Sweetwater,... Cast Iron takes on a rusty patina that blocks further internal rusting....
There'll be a few flakes of occasional rust, but more so Sand,+ other Crud will block off the Drains in the fall when you winterize,..
But,...
That's what 3" deckscrews are for,... Knockin' that Crud outa the way....

FWC is a closed antifreeze cooling system that utilizes a Heat Exchanger to pass the heat to the lake...

Freshwater cooling is the way to go if you're concerned about buildup in the engine block. It is somewhat more complex than raw water cooling though, so as with everything there is a tradeoff.
