Very nice a 86 mpi motor ? Out of a corvette? What motor was that precisely?

And what manifolds did you use ?

And what drive in that boat ?

And you just dropped it in the boat ? With no modifications ?

The last thing i remember this guy got a carb .

So you want him to sink what into this boat money wise, maybe 10 grand probably more with a bravo 3.

I agree with the money thing. There's a break-even point where holding on to something is purely emotional so, by default, is a poor financial move.

For ten grand I'd sell the current one and move up a class. I just have a moral problem with lightening the bank account by 10K and having the same hull.

Not that there's anything wrong with guys who do that...I'm just not one of them. At least not yet :)

You CAN use Vortec heads on an earlier 350/305. All you have to is alter the angle of 4 bolt holes which go straight down and not on an angle to the manifold, either grind the holes in the manifold or screw in a headless stud in the head and redrill/tap the new hole at the right angle
I used rhe original 1979 260 HP (had a quadajet) the leg was an mr1/2?
The vette mpi was given to me as the previous owner was having trouble, removed it,he cut the injection part out the wiring harness (which I used).
No other mods.
Checked the lift on the cam and compared it with the original specs in my manual, Found that there was not much differance.
By the way, I have a complete (near complete) mpi off a 2006 Volve Penta spare:). but the cost of shipping would be to large back to the US
The manifolds that I used are alloy and were made in Tasmania.
I use FWC on all my engines
I did all this about 6 years ago

I just want to know precisely what motor from a 86' vette is a mpi.

I don't know anyone in Tasmania, i didn't even know they had running water, or electricity, never mind indoor toilets.

And they made you a working set custom made what?

And you put together 3 different motors and made from scratch a mpi 305/350.

And this was done in otter mongolia ?

The other guy who took the astro motor and dropped it in the boat, in my mind would work great. Efi great no kidding. Cam is right everything is right power curve could be worked maybe.
Thats a straight out deal, and actually easy.

I had a bad day at the mall not one freekin spot, this mall got parking for 5000 cars not one freekin spot.

So maybe it's me, if it's working in your boat good for you. Gazza

I forgot to add, the manifolds are made by LUXFORD ROLCO and they are not FWC, only the engine and not a problem. With the vette injection aand being all alloy lifted the stern about 2". When I put the new 5.7mpi in I will loose that and some as it is heavyier:(

Ayuh,....

That description is about putting Early manifolds onto Fuelie heads....

Vortec Heads have No center manifold bolts.....

Early Manifolds,+ Fuelie manifolds can Not be bolted to Vortec Heads.....
Even if you Could get the 8 bolts started,...
The Intake Ports of the heads are .200" Higher,+ will be open to the atmosphere....

Probably just got lost in the translation or somethin'......;)
