5 Horse help.....

Hello,

I have a 5 horse twin cylinder Suzuki I have had since new. It was bought in about 1985 or so.
It has never run well. The main complaint is that the engine will start fine, rev well, run for 5 minutes under power then begin to lose power and will not rev well. . From that point on, it will not rev hardly at all and usually will not idle without stalling.

Any suggestions would be appreciated....Peter

Check for overheating. Check compression. rebuild the carbs and properly adjust them. Perform a link & sync (timing advance and throttle synchronization). If you intend to do this work yourself, you need a service manual specific for your engine.
