I would like to know the recommended sparkplug and gap for a 1956 5 HP Seaking. It currently has AC 45's in it. The motor runs well but seems to flood out easily. I have not had it out on the water yet to fine tune the idle adjustments.Thank you for your time! Ownsbud56

Any brand plug of the proper design will work.My info lists Autolite A3X and Champion J6J(J6C)set at .030.With luck when your carb is adjusted correctly it will run fine.

OMC built that engine, Ownsbud (Gale Division). All OMC engines are engineered to use Champion plugs. It is essentially the same engine as the Johnson CD series.

As spike says, use Champion J6C. If you operate mainly at low rpm (trolling) you can get improved fouling resistance by gapping them at .040". If you operate more at higher rpm gap them at .030".

Be sure to use only 24:1 fuel mix; 87 octane and TC-W3 oil.
