50 amp fuse to replace breaker

I believe my breaker is broke on my 2000 3.0 mercrusier. 12 volts across it, it passes current when i press it in but then will not stay reset.

Anyone replaced the breaker with a 50 amp fuse and fuse housing?

You could, but why? Disconect the "output" side (the load) and retest. If it works now, its probably tripping for a reason.

Thanks for the test idea. The breaker failed the test. I did install a 50 amp fuse and everything works. I'll install the breaker when it comes in off of backorder.
