I am in need of some suggestions,I recently rebuilt my 50 hp force motor. All new, bore job, piston rings, bearings, all seals, gaskets, rebuilt carb, ect. and it will run with fresh plugs acts a little funny at times like it is starving for fuel one minute and the next it runns great. fish awhile go to start and acts like plugs are fouled bearly will run will not come up to speed slow dowm motor quits and plugs are shot. One thing I am currius about is when I mounted the fuel pump in my gaskets I had 5 thin diaprams, I only used one. can that be my problem? Thanks in addvance for any help

Please post your model number and the year of the motor. Also where do you have the mixture adjust setting on your carb. Turn the screw clockwise counting turns till it lightly seats. Then turn it back out and post how many turns out it is.

Re: 50 force fouling plugs

Thanks for the reply, I found the problem. Sheared the fly wheel key, now next question is does some one make a tappered reamer or cutter to clean up the scared fly wheel? I cleaned the crank shaft but the fly wheel is in bad shape. The motor is 1989 50 hp force model 507Y9B (large bore)

You might be able to lap the flywheel to the crank with valve grinding compound.
