I don't know if you guys remember this from a year ago... But, this is the 50 HP Force that was missing badly after it warmed up and was making unhappy knocking noises. We decided the missing was a bad coil and didn't determine anything on the knock. Fast forward to this spring, I decided I was going to go ahead and buy a coil and run it till it broke. Well in the process of finding a coil I found a used powerhead from what appears to be a reputable dealer. Tore the old motor apart and I'm glad I did. It would have left me stranded before long. Here is a link to what it sounds like!

Now to get everything swapped over and back together. I will probably be looking for help. :)

I've almost got Humpty Dumpty put back together. Need to set the timing. My Seloc manual says to check it with motor running at WOT. I thought someone on here had a different method but I don't remember. Seems like turning it over with the starter ang plugs out and grounded. But then again maybe I'm imagining... :) I don't have a test prop. Any suggestions are appreciated!!!

Read the first 4-5 posts.
There's a post about static timing.

To do a WOT test, you'd need a special prop and a 1000 gal test tank..
IF?? you didn't mess with the timing??? It probably didn't change much if any???
